The concept for Mates With Grace initially came about during my pregnancy with our daughter Gracie.
As a designer and art-maker, I began crafting up all sorts of items for our expected baby to create a space for her filled with unique items made with love. I suppose it was my version of “nesting”.
I found so much joy in making and sewing various goodies for her, that this habit continued after she was born (after a few months of adjusting to motherhood!) Soon, I was hunting for more gorgeous fabrics and crafting up items for friends and the new tiny humans in their lives.
From a very early age I was introduced to all things Australiana, and was lucky enough to visit some truly beautiful and unique places around this country.
My love for our native flora and fauna is something I desire to pass on to our daughter and something I can’t help but inject into the range of goodies I create for Mates With Grace. Our Australiana goodies make beautiful gifts for both home-soil, bush-babies and those living overseas.
I love to support Aussie designers and have utilised many gorgeous designer prints to date, including Amanda Brandl, Jocelyn Proust, Laura Blythman and Anne Waters.
Each item is designed, handmade, packed and posted on the Mornington Peninsula, near Melbourne, Australia by me, with aid of a marvellous 40-year old Janome sewing machine that belonged to my mother.
Mates With Grace truly is a labour of love and it is such an honour and thrill whenever I see a bub wearing or playing with one of my creations.
